Pins & Needles takes the privacy and security of our customers very seriously.
Pins & Needles provides this Internet Privacy Statement because our customers have a right to know what information we collect, how it is used, and how it is protected. This policy may be amended from time to time and was last updated on 10th April 2024.​

SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

When you purchase something from our online store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.
When you browse our online store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Also when you submit a Workshop/Club/Party registration form online, for you or for your children, you are required to give contact information (such as first and last name, phone number and email address). Pins & Needles collects personally identifiable information from our clients/students during the initial signup process as well as during surveys or preference requests.
We use this information to contact you with news about your workshops/clubs/parties, offers, newsletters, birthday treats and special promotions which you have expressed interest in receiving.

Communications may include offers, newsletters, updates, special promotions, surveys and unsubscribe confirmations.
SECTION 2 - CONSENT - HOW DO WE GET YOUR CONSENT?
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, apply for a workshop/club/party, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
Pins & Needles never shares your data with anyone else and will never rent, sell or otherwise provide this to third parties.

Your email addresses is used only to send email that was requested. Pins & Needles follows an opt-in permission-based email and text message (SMS) enrolment policy. Pins & Needles will not send unsolicited, bulk or commercial offers or advertisements if you did not authorise that. Pins & Needles will NOT rent, sell, trade or loan our customers’ lists to anyone. All emails contain links on how to unsubscribe from the client list, how to request your data be updated or deleted. All SMS messages contain information on how to unsubscribe from the client list. You may leave our customers’ lists at any time for any reason. If you have any questions or feel that you received unsolicited email or an unsolicited SMS message please contact us.

Pins & Needles will use personally identifiable information to contact you when responding to email support requests and other direct requests for information from Pins & Needles. To protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

SURVEYS OR CONTESTS

From time to time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in web-based contests or surveys. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name address and phone number(s)), demographic information (such as post code) and personal preference information (such as your opinions). This information is used by Pins & Needles to better understand our customers.​

HOW DO I WITHDRAW MY CONSENT?

You have the right to access the personal information that we hold about you. This may be called a ‘Subject Access Request’. If you make a request for your information we will provide it to you or your designated agent free of charge within 30 days.

SECTION 3 - DISCLOSURE
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to (a) protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Company; (b) protect and defend Pins & Needles’ rights or property or the users our services, and (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of our services or the public.​

SECTION 4 - Wix
Our store is hosted on Wix.com. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Wix’s data storage, databases and the general Wix application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Payment
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Wix stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.
As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in Europe, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under European legislation.
Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms and Conditions.

Links - When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
SECTION 6 - SECURITY
We will retain a copy of your information in accordance with law and only so long as necessary to provide you with high quality and consistent services including marketing services and account information.

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
COOKIES

1. Session (Transient) cookies: these cookies are erased when you close your browser, and do not collect information from your computer. They typically store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user.

If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
